Off and on for at least 20 years this column has been chiding the state Senate’s Democrats to remove from their caucus room’s portrait gallery of former lieutenant governors the portrait of T. Frank Hayes, the lieutenant governor from 1935 to 1939 who was simultaneously mayor of Waterbury before being convicted and imprisoned for looting the city. (Read More)
